Oh, so good. Natural Leaven recipe for a cold-weather favorite. Mix the batter the day before baking. Yummy to eat simply as cookie dough. If a recipe calls for flour, we add natural leavening.Vegan.
1/4 C. Natural Leavening*
1/4 C. molasses
1 C. natural sweetener, granulated
3/4 C. coconut oil (can use part butter)
1/4 C. water
2 C. flour
1 tsp. ginger, ground
1 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp. cloves, ground
Mix all ingredients together. Cover and let culture for 24-36 hours at room temperature. Dough should be like very, moist cookie batter. Roll into balls. Place on an non-greased baking sheet. Bake in a 375’F oven for 8 minutes.
Note: This recipe tastes really yummy without egg, soda, or salt.
